New Delhi, The NHRC has issued a notice to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the censor board over allegations of 'vulgar, sexually suggestive, and double-meaning' lyrics in the song 'Sarke Chunar' from an upcoming film.
The song, from Sanjay Dutt's 'KD The Devil', has been removed from the official YouTube page but was widely shared on social media platforms.
A complainant alleged that the lyrics are inappropriate for public consumption, especially for children, and may negatively impact their mental well-being and moral environment.
The NHRC has directed the certification authority to inquire into the allegations and submit a report within two weeks.
