Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will take oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha on April 10, paving the way for the ruling NDA to elect its leader to head the new government, according to state BJP president Sanjay Saraogi.
Following his oath, Kumar will be part of the consulting process, Saraogi said on Sunday. The central leadership of BJP and the NDA will elect its leader after Kumar's oath.
A cabinet meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, which could be the last meeting of the Nitish cabinet. However, there is still no clarity on Nitish Kumar's successor.
Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha stated that the decision on Kumar's successor will be taken when the position falls vacant, and once he resigns, the process for the new government formation will begin.
