Opposition Criticized for Disrupting Parliament over Energy Security Debate

Union parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju on Monday criticized the Opposition for disrupting the House and forcing adjournments. The Opposition is demanding a debate on energy security, but Rijiju pointed out that they have given a notice for no confidence against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and are seeking a debate on another issue.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmaker Jagadambika Pal also accused the Opposition of not paying attention to external affairs minister S Jaishankar's statement on the situation in West Asia.

The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 3pm amid protests by the opposition over the discussion on the West Asia conflict.
