Opposition parties have stepped up their attack on the government over reported LPG shortages in India amid the ongoing Middle East conflict.
According to reports, several restaurant bodies in India have faced a shortage of LPG cylinders, prompting criticism from Congress, Shiv Sena, and other opposition parties.
Congress MP Pramod Tiwari blamed the Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry for the shortage, while Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi alleged that the government was underprepared for the crisis.
Samajwadi Party MPs Ram Gopal Yadav and Awadhesh Prasad also criticized the government, warning that the shortage could push inflation higher and worsen the economic situation.
Hotel associations in Chennai and Bengaluru have also reported disruptions in commercial LPG supplies, warning that many establishments may be forced to shut operations.
