Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired a special meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to review measures taken in view of the ongoing conflict in West Asia and assess the availability of critical needs of the common man.
At the meeting, Modi called for all-out efforts to protect citizens from the impact of the conflict, a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office said.
The meeting was held to review measures taken by ministries and departments, and discuss further initiatives in the context of the West Asia conflict, the statement said.
PM Modi directed that a group of ministers and secretaries be created to work dedicatedly in a whole-of-government approach to deal with the effects of the West Asia conflict.
