PM Modi Chairs Key Security Meet Amid West Asia Crisis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a key meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to review measures taken by various ministries/ departments amid the West Asia crisis.

During the meeting, PM Modi reviewed supply diversification for LPG and LNG, as well as fuel duty reduction and power sector measures to ensure that essentials remain stable.

The government said efforts to globally diversify sources of energy, fertilizers, and other supply chains are being taken, with new inflows of LPG and LNG being facilitated from different countries.

Measures to curb hoarding and black marketing of LPG are in place, with state governments requested to curb black marketing, hoarding, and diversion of fertilizers through daily monitoring, raids, and strict action.

The PMO stated that initiatives have been taken to expand Piped Natural Gas connections and ensure availability of power during peak summer months.

LPG prices for domestic consumers have remained the same, and retail prices of food commodities have been stable over the past month, with control rooms set up for constant monitoring and interaction with states/ union territories.
