Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to the historic Somnath Temple in Gujarat, participating in the Somnath Swabhiman Parv celebrations. The event commemorates the 1,000-year milestone since the first attack on the temple in 1026. During his visit, the PM offered prayers, chanted the Omkar Mantra, and took part in a ceremonial procession, known as the Shaurya Yatra, to honor those who defended the temple. Modi also expressed gratitude towards the people for the warm welcome and praised Somnath as a symbol of India's civilizational courage. As part of his three-day visit to his home state, the PM will also chair a meeting of the Shree Somnath Trust and inaugurate the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Rajkot. The conference aims to bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, and government officials to foster growth and development in the Saurashtra-Kutch region.
