Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that serious discussions are underway to implement two key BJP ideological issues: Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and 'One Nation, One Election' or simultaneous voting for Parliament and state assemblies.
Addressing BJP workers on the party's 47th foundation day, PM Modi said that the mission to build a developed India is still ongoing and that the party will continue to work selflessly towards this goal.
The UCC is one of the three original ideological issues of the BJP, and some BJP-ruled states have already rolled out the code. A joint parliamentary committee is currently examining the issue of simultaneous elections.
PM Modi praised the BJP workers for their dedication and hard work, saying that they have firm faith in their ability to ensure India's better future.
He also cited the construction of a new Parliament building, reservation for economically weaker sections, and the ban on instant triple talaq as examples of the BJP's honest efforts bearing fruit.
