Modi stressed the importance of improving people's lives and reducing government interference, urging ministers to focus on governance and delivery.

Ministers presented initiatives and performances of their respective ministries and departments, while External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar briefed on PM Modi's recent five-nation trip.

The meeting marked the first council ministers' meeting of the year, with PM Modi aiming to achieve all-around development by 2047.
