Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has condemned the ongoing war in Iran, calling it 'unjust and illegal.' He has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to use his diplomatic channels to end the war in the interest of humanity.
Abdullah made the statement in the Legislative Assembly, where several MLAs from different parties expressed their support for Iran and condemned the war.
The Chief Minister expressed his condolences over the loss of lives in the conflict and appealed to the Prime Minister to use his relationships to help end the war at the earliest.
Abdullah pointed out that the war has affected not just Iran but also India, citing the queues outside petrol pumps and the pain felt by the people.
He reminded the MLAs that the Central government has strong relations with many countries, including the US, Israel, and Iran's neighboring countries.
Abdullah urged the House to collectively appeal to Prime Minister Modi to use his office and personal diplomatic relations to help bring the war to an end as soon as possible.
