Prime Minister Narendra Modi has advised citizens to take precautions against the ongoing heatwave and highlighted traditional Indian summer drinks in his 134th Mann Ki Baat broadcast.
He emphasized the importance of staying hydrated and following government-issued guidelines, citing traditional summer beverages such as aam panna, lassi, buttermilk, sattu, kokum, and sol kadhi.
PM Modi noted that these drinks are products of local traditions and generations of experience, and are a part of the cultural heritage of different regions in India.
He also talked about the diversity of mangoes in the country, with each region having its own unique variety and flavor.
The Prime Minister congratulated athletes who set national records during the National Senior Athletics Federation competition in Ranchi, and praised a rescue operation in Uttar Pradesh in which a Gangetic dolphin was saved after a 13-hour effort.
