Police in Punjab have booked a childhood friend of a final-year MBBS student for murder. Mohit Verma, 24, is accused of killing Kamaldeep Kumar Mittal, 24, who was found dead in his PG room with over 10 stab wounds.

The autopsy revealed that Kamaldeep was murdered between 6:15 am and 7:15 am on Monday, and Mohit was the last person seen with him before his death.

According to officials, Mohit transferred ₹25,000 from Kamaldeep's phone into his account after the murder, and the motive behind the killing is yet to be established.

The police are conducting raids to arrest Mohit, who is on the run, and Kamaldeep's family members are demanding strict punishment for the accused.
