Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has called Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma the 'most corrupt' CM in the country and demanded a probe into allegations levelled by Congress.
Gandhi made the remarks after Assam Police approached the Supreme Court against Telangana High Court's decision to grant transit anticipatory bail for Congress leader Pawan Khera.
Khera had alleged that Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, the wife of Assam CM, owned three passports and the couple, along with their son, owns a business worth ₹52,000 crore in the United States.
Assam CM had denied the claims, but Congress leaders have accused him of abusing state power to harass his political opponents and critics.
Rahul Gandhi said the Congress Party stands with Pawan Khera and will not be intimidated by the allegations.
