Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has released a nine-minute speech at the INDIA bloc meeting, urging the alliance to adopt a continuous 'spirit of resistance'. He warned TMC leaders that they were in 'dreamland' ahead of the 2026 Bengal state elections loss to the BJP.
Gandhi criticized the BJP and the Election Commission of India, saying the Opposition must transition from standard electoral politics into an aggressive, mass-mobilisation 'resistance movement'. He drew on the Congress party's own transformation more than 100 years ago as the template for what the alliance must now become.
Gandhi was unequivocal about Congress's ideological position, saying they would 'die in the Congress party' before standing with or compromising with the BJP or the RSS.
