Defence minister Rajnath Singh responded to Pakistan's threat to hit Kolkata with a stern warning and a reminder of the 1971 war that split Pakistan into two.
Pakistan's defence minister Khwaja Asif warned of attacking Kolkata if India attempted any 'false flag operations', but Rajnath Singh asked him to refrain from making such statements.
Rajnath Singh reminded Asif of the consequences of the 1971 war, saying 'If they try to cast an eye on Bengal, only god knows how many parts Pakistan will be divided into this time.'
The 1971 India-Pakistan war led to the creation of Bangladesh and resulted in Pakistan being divided into two parts.
Rajnath Singh's warning came after he issued a big warning of decisive action to India's 'neighbour' in the event of any 'misadventure' amid the current global situation.
