The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has replaced Raghav Chadha as the deputy leader of the party in the Rajya Sabha with Ashok Mittal, sparking rumors of a rift within the party.
Party leaders described the decision as part of internal restructuring, but opposition leaders claim it's a sign of Chadha distancing himself from party leader Arvind Kejriwal.
Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said the move shows Chadha has distanced himself from Kejriwal's leadership, while Congress lawmaker Amarinder Singh Raja Warring claimed it's clear Chadha is separate from the AAP.
Chadha, who represents Punjab in the Upper House, has yet to issue a statement on the issue, but posted a video on social media highlighting his work in the Rajya Sabha.
AAP currently has 10 members in the Rajya Sabha, and the party wants to give more prominence to Punjab's issues in Parliament ahead of the state's assembly polls next year.
