Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to inaugurate a three-day exhibition on India's new criminal laws in Bhubaneswar on March 6. The 'Nyaya Sanhita Exhibition' aims to raise awareness about the country's criminal law reforms and the transformation of the criminal justice system.
The exhibition will showcase the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, which replaced the colonial-era legal framework on July 1, 2024.
Shah will also inaugurate 20 new cyber police stations on virtual mode and attend other official programmes during his two-day visit to Odisha.
The new criminal laws focus on dealing with crimes against women and children, with the police department rescuing over 5,000 missing women and children during a special drive in January.
