Omraje Nimbalkar, a rebel Shiv Sena (UBT) parliamentarian, has switched sides to ensure justice for his murdered father. Nimbalkar, who was among six Shiv Sena (UBT) Lok Sabha members who defied a whip and skipped a meeting of its parliamentary wing, said his association with the opposition was hurting his fight for justice.
Nimbalkar joined politics 20 years ago to fight against those who killed his father, Pawanraje Nimbalkar, in 2006. He said the ruling side blocked him at every level in the constituency and that he has no option but to switch sides for political survival.
Nimbalkar is awaiting a trial court verdict on June 20 in his father's murder case and plans to tour Dharashiv district to meet his workers and supporters after the verdict. He said he is not joining the ruling alliance for greed but out of compulsion to be politically relevant and continue his fight against the Patil family.
