The Supreme Court has refused to grant a divorce to a husband who has been living separately from his wife for 16 years, ordering him to continue paying ₹15,000 in maintenance each month.

The court's decision came after the husband's counsel argued that the long separation was due to ongoing differences and incompatibility, but the wife challenged this claim, stating she was willing to return and live with her husband.

The court observed that the husband's ₹15,000 monthly payment was 'hardly anything these days' and directed him to continue paying the existing amount, telling him to 'be quiet and continue paying, be happy.'
