The Supreme Court has denied an urgent hearing on a petition challenging the re-conduct of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2026, citing heightened anxiety and stress among candidates.

The petition, filed by 11 NEET aspirants, claimed that the recent developments surrounding the examination have caused widespread psychological distress and uncertainty among candidates.

The petitioners argued that the re-examination, scheduled for June 21, was announced on short notice, leaving students with insufficient preparation time and causing severe prejudice to candidates across the country.

The Supreme Court, however, directed the petition to come up along with other petitions related to the alleged NEET paper leak in July, stating that it would not entertain any request for an urgent hearing.
