With counting just days away, a political drama has unfolded in Tamil Nadu. On Friday, the office of a Vijay-led Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) candidate's election office was reportedly set on fire by unidentified persons.
The incident occurred in the Pettavaythalai area of the Srirangam Assembly constituency near Trichy, where TVK candidate Ramesh's office came under alleged attack.
The party has sought immediate action and filed a formal complaint at the local police station, as reported by ANI.
Actor-politician Vijay's TVK is among the parties in fray in Tamil Nadu, where elections to the 234-seat Assembly were held on April 23, and counting of votes will take place on May 4.
TVK candidate N Marie Wilson said Vijay has instructed candidates to be present at the counting centres early in the morning before counting starts and 'not move an inch.'
