The magic number to form a government is 118 out of 234 total seats. The DMK-led alliance contests 164 constituencies, while Congress contests 28 seats. The AIADMK contests 167 seats, BJP 27, PMK 18, and AMMK 11.
Initial results show TVK candidates leading in Alangulam, Sankarankovil, and Tenkasi constituencies.
