A TCS employee has come forward with allegations of harassment and taunting at the company's Nashik BPO unit, sparking an investigation and the arrest of eight individuals.
The woman, who joined the company after her marriage, claimed that her colleagues made obscene gestures and asked her about her personal life, including her honeymoon.
She alleged that Raza Memon, a team lead, repeatedly asked her about her personal life and even pulled at her saree on one occasion.
Memon's family has denied the allegations, claiming that they are part of a coordinated 'conspiracy' spurred by Memon's academic and professional performance.
TCS has clarified that it has a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and coercion, and the employees allegedly involved have been suspended.
The Maharashtra government has also taken notice of the matter, with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis calling it a cause for serious concern.
