Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has questioned Kerala's claims of eradicating extreme poverty, citing discrepancies in the state's data and governance issues.

In a letter to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, Reddy raised questions over the independence of the November 1, 2025 declaration and the reliance on the NITI Aayog Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index 2023–24, which he argued reflects the 'tail-end of a decade of misrule.'

Reddy also pointed out that Telangana's per capita income has surpassed major states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra, citing data from the Reserve Bank of India Handbook of Statistics 2024–25.

On governance, Reddy referred to the Kerala gold smuggling case and alleged links to individuals associated with the chief minister's office, while outlining Telangana's roadmap to become a $1 trillion economy within a decade under the 'Telangana Rising' vision.
