The Karreguttalu hillocks in Telangana's Mulugi district are set to become an eco-tourism hub, with senior officials inaugurating a police outpost and Intelligence Coordination Centre in the area.
State director general of police B Shivadhar Reddy and other officials oversaw developmental projects, including a 15-km road being laid by central paramilitary forces and road construction projects.
Principal chief conservator of forests, Dr C Suvarna, said roads were being laid without violating forest laws and highlighted the area's significant potential for eco-tourism.
The Telangana government plans to develop waterfalls and natural attractions in the agency areas of Mulugu district as part of a broader eco-tourism strategy.
Forest and police officials also discussed measures for the welfare and upliftment of Guttikoya tribal settlements in the Karreguttalu forests.
