AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami has accused the DMK regime of transforming Tamil Nadu into a hub of drug trafficking, citing the rise of ganja trafficking, illicit liquor sales, and drug mafia in the state.
Since Chief Minister M K Stalin took over in 2021, the state has seen a significant increase in drug use among college and school students, with media reports showing a casual attitude towards substance abuse.
Palaniswami alleged that the ruling party and the chief minister are shielding those involved in crimes, rather than protecting the people, and that the state is plagued by brutal sexual assaults and murders against women and children.
He also pointed out that there have been about 30 lockup deaths in the last 5 years of the DMK rule, with 4 Scheduled Caste youths dying in custody in the last two months alone.
The AIADMK chief appealed to the people to throw out the 'anti-people regime' and demanded action to ensure law and order in the state.
