A night that was meant to be a celebration turned into a nightmare for a woman in Udaipur, India, after she was allegedly raped by her colleagues in a moving car. The incident occurred on December 20, after a birthday party for the company's CEO at a hotel in the Shobhagpura area. The CEO of a Udaipur-based IT firm, a female employee, and her husband, who is from Uttar Pradesh's Meerut, have been arrested in connection with the crime. According to the survivor's complaint, the female employee offered to drop her home after the party, but instead took her to the car where the other two accused were already present. The accused allegedly bought something that resembled cigarettes, which the survivor consumed, leading to her losing consciousness. However, she regained consciousness to find herself being assaulted by all three despite her attempts to resist. The survivor claimed that she was kept in the car all night before being dropped at her place in the early morning. A medical examination confirmed that the survivor was sexually assaulted, and she subsequently filed a complaint with the police. The accused have been remanded to a four-day police custody after being produced before a court. The incident has raised questions about the safety and security of women in the workplace, particularly in a company that has rated itself highly for woman-friendliness.
