A shocking incident of domestic violence has come to light in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. On the night of December 20, a 30-year-old woman, Radhika Sahani, was allegedly beaten by her husband, Lalchand Sahani, with a hot iron griddle (tawa) over a delay in serving roti. The couple's 4-year-old son was also severely injured in the attack. According to Radhika's complaint, Lalchand frequently returns home drunk and abuses her. On the night of the incident, he arrived home around 9 pm and demanded that Radhika cook roti immediately. However, she was busy completing some household chores, which led to a delay. Enraged by this, Lalchand went into the kitchen and assaulted his wife with the tawa. Their 4-year-old son, who was in the house, rushed into the room upon hearing his mother's cries. In a fit of rage, Lalchand allegedly struck the child on the head with the same tawa, causing a serious head injury. The child was rushed to the district hospital for treatment. After the attack, Lalchand reportedly threatened to kill Radhika before fleeing the spot. Based on Radhika's complaint, police have registered a case and launched a search for the accused. The Gorakhnath police station's SHO, Shashi Bhushan Rai, confirmed that efforts are being made to apprehend Lalchand Sahani. This disturbing incident highlights the dangers of domestic violence and the need for immediate action to prevent such crimes. The police have assured that they will leave no stone unturned to bring the accused to justice and ensure the safety of the victim and her child.
