A woman in Uttar Pradesh's Mainpuri district received a shocking text message from her bank while working in the fields. Her Bank of India account showed a balance of ₹9,99,49,588, a far cry from the ₹45,000 she actually had.
The woman, a farmer and small grocery shop owner, went to the bank with her son to investigate. However, it was closed due to a holiday.
She then checked her balance at a nearby ATM, where she was left stunned. Despite the huge amount in her account, she decided not to touch the money until the matter was investigated.
Her neighbours and family members praised her for her decision, and she even told her family not to take out any money from the account.
It was later discovered that the displayed balance was due to a lien marked against a loan account, and no money was actually credited to her account.
