A US citizen was injured at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport after a metal panel from the aerobridge ceiling fell on him while disembarking from an Air India Express flight.
Deepak Adoni, 63, was visiting India for work and was among the first passengers to exit the flight from Bengaluru when the incident occurred.
He was later transported to Apollo Hospital for medical evaluation and underwent an MRI scan, which showed 'degenerative changes' in his cervical spine, multilevel disc bulges, and minor head trauma.
Doctors medically cleared and discharged him, recommending a neck brace and painkillers for the pain in his neck and head.
Adoni, originally from Telangana, will stay in India to monitor his condition and may consider legal action.
Airport officials have conducted a thorough safety inspection of all aerobridge ceiling panels to prevent similar incidents.
