US Delegation to Visit India Soon to Finalize Trade Deal

India and the US are working towards an early conclusion of an interim trade agreement. An American delegation is expected to visit New Delhi soon to advance the process and reach an understanding that serves the national interests of both sides.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and US counterpart Marco Rubio expressed the hope that a US team will come to India soon to move the process along.

The two sides have continued talks to conclude a trade deal despite the Trump administration's attention being occupied by the West Asia crisis.

Jaishankar emphasized the importance of an early understanding on the trade deal and expressed hope that a US team will come to India soon to move the process along.

Rubio added that the US is hopeful that its Trade Representative can visit India soon and that they have made tremendous progress in the talks.
