The Uttarakhand forest department removed wedding arrangements for a minister's son at a temple complex inside the Rajaji Tiger Reserve after an outcry.
The preparations included tents, tables, chairs, coolers, and water tankers at the Sureshwari Devi Temple complex in the reserve's Haridwar range.
Forest officials said no permission was sought for the event, while the minister claimed he informed a senior forest official and that the arrangements were made with the temple committee's consent.
A case has been registered against the temple committee's office-bearers under the Wildlife Protection Act, and a probe has been initiated.
