The Supreme Court has upheld the Election Commission's order on deploying central government staff as counting supervisors, dismissing concerns raised by the TMC.

Meanwhile, repolling is underway in two assembly constituencies in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district following reports of EVM tampering.

Over 16% voter turnout was recorded till 9 am in Magrahat Paschim and Diamond Harbour amid repolling.

Repolling began at 7 am at 15 polling stations in two assembly constituencies after reports of EVM tampering during the second phase of polling on Wednesday.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded a repoll, alleging that the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) was behind the tampering.
