The second supplementary voter list in West Bengal is expected to be released by March 27-28, according to a senior Election Commission official.
The list will be based on the 36 lakh voter entries that have been resolved from the pending list.
The official stated that the release of the list depends on the resolution of remaining entries received from various booths.
Issues that arose during the publication of the first supplementary list still persist, including technical problems and missing data from several booths.
The revision process is being carried out in compliance with the Supreme Court's directions, which require voters whose names are excluded from the rolls to be allowed to appeal before a tribunal.
However, uncertainty remains over the operationalisation of these tribunals, with no final decision taken yet on when and where they will begin functioning.
The delay in setting up the tribunals has raised concerns among stakeholders, as affected voters await clarity on the mechanism to challenge exclusions from the electoral rolls.
