Violence broke out in West Bengal's Murshidabad district on Friday during Ram Navami processions, with incidents of stone-pelting, vandalism, and arson reported.
The clashes began after an argument over music being played during a procession in Raghunathganj, which escalated into a clash between participants and locals.
At least 12 people have been arrested, and prohibitory orders have been imposed in Raghunathganj town to maintain law and order.
Several people were injured in the incident, and tensions gripped parts of Murshidabad, with security tightened in Jangipur and Raghunathganj areas.
