YSRCP MP M Gurumoorthy has called on the Centre to address the 'disproportionately high' airfares on the Hyderabad-Tirupati route, despite consistent passenger demand.

Gurumoorthy, MP from Tirupati, highlighted that Tirupati's strong year-round passenger traffic warrants urgent intervention by the Centre.

He noted that fares from Hyderabad to other cities ranged between ₹2,500 and ₹7,000, whereas the Hyderabad-Tirupati sector recorded average non-stop fares between ₹6,600 and ₹9,500.

Gurumoorthy cited operational data showing the route handled over 11.8 lakh passengers and nearly 13,400 flights between April 2025 and March 2026.

He urged the Civil Aviation Ministry to direct airline operators to rationalise tariff structures, increase flight frequency, and deploy higher-capacity aircraft to better align supply with demand.
