In a major show of organisational strength ahead of the upcoming village committee elections in Tripura, as many as 84 candidates of the Tipra Motha Party filed their nomination papers on Saturday at the Charilam RD Block.
The candidates represented 10 village committees under the Charilam area and were accompanied by around 5,000 party workers, supporters and well-wishers, creating a vibrant atmosphere around the nomination process.
The nomination programme was led by Charilam MLA Subodh Debbarma, along with MDC Buddha Kumar Debbarma and Sohel Miah. Several social workers and local supporters also participated in the programme and extended their support to the candidates.
The large gathering reflected the party's organisational mobilisation and its focus on strengthening its presence at the grassroots level. Party workers and supporters marched alongside the candidates as they arrived at the Charilam RD Block to submit their nomination papers.
The filing of nominations marks an important step in the electoral process, with political parties intensifying their campaigns across Tripura ahead of the village committee polls.
The Tipra Motha Party's strong participation in Charilam is expected to make the upcoming contest significant, as candidates prepare to seek the support of voters across the 10 village committees.
