Mumbai: At just 18, Anahat Singh has already achieved a remarkable feat by becoming one of the world's top 20 female professional squash players. However, she and her mentor Saurav Ghosal believe that this is just the beginning and not the ceiling for her abilities.

Anahat's rapid rise to the top 20 has been a subject of much anticipation in Indian squash, and she has carried a novelty factor against top players who were not familiar with her game. However, as she continues to compete against the best in the world, she will need to be ready for the challenge of staying at the top.

According to Ghosal, Anahat's game needs to evolve and become less predictable if she wants to beat the top players. He believes that she has the potential to do so, but it will require her to work on her fundamentals, such as her rallying and touch game, as well as her physicality.

Anahat has already shown glimpses of her potential by beating top players like Sana Ibrahim and Georgina Kennedy, but she will need to continue to improve and adapt to the demands of the top level. With the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics just two years away, the pressure will be on her to maintain her rankings and qualify for the Games.

Ghosal is confident that Anahat has the potential to go even higher and is working with her to add new things to her repertoire and stay ahead of the competition.
