Cam Skattebo has come under fire for a 'joke' he made on Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) and asthma, saying both conditions are an 'excuse'.

While the New York Giants RB apologized for her remarks, his mother, who is suffering with asthma, came to his defense.

Becky Skattebo explained the 24-year-old's point of view, saying that Cam's comments were meant to be sarcastic and not taken literally.

Cam Skattebo apologized for his remarks, saying he had a 'lapse in judgment' and that he never intended to downplay the seriousness of head injuries or asthma.

The apology was in response to a conversation he had on the 'Bring the Juice' podcast, where he said CTE was an excuse and that asthma was 'fake too'.

However, his mother defended him, saying that if people knew how many times Cam had to 'run and get mom's inhaler' they'd realize the sarcasm.

Cam Skattebo was selected by the Giants in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft and played in eight games, running for 410 yards and five touchdowns.
