East Bengal Receive President’s Cup After Winning Durand Cup 2026

East Bengal Football Club has been formally presented with the President’s Cup of the Durand Cup Tournament 2026 at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

President Droupadi Murmu handed over the prestigious President’s Cup to the victorious East Bengal team, recognising their successful campaign in one of India’s oldest and most celebrated football tournaments.

The ceremony brought together senior defence officials, dignitaries and members of the Durand Football Tournament Society. Chief of Defence Staff General N.S. Raja Subramani, President of the Durand Football Tournament Society, Chief of Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Krishna Swaminathan were among those present.

Vice Presidents of the Durand Football Tournament Society, senior officials and players and representatives of East Bengal Football Club also attended the occasion.

The presentation of the President’s Cup marked a proud moment for East Bengal, whose success in the 2026 Durand Cup adds another significant achievement to the club’s rich football legacy.

The Durand Cup, organised with the support of the Indian Armed Forces, continues to hold a special place in Indian football, bringing together leading clubs and showcasing the country’s footballing talent.
