FIFA has reportedly decided to pay Somali referee Omar Artan for his World Cup assignments, despite being denied entry to the US.
Artan was initially included in FIFA's list of officials but was removed after being denied entry to Miami International Airport due to 'vetting concerns.'
He was later appointed to take charge of the UEFA Super Cup in August.
FIFA chief Gianni Infantino claimed the incident was beyond the federation's control, saying they 'try to find solutions' but 'respect' the decisions of governments and police forces.
Artan was given a hero's welcome in Somalia, where he vowed to attend the next World Cup.
