New York, The German football team is dealing with an unexpected problem at the FIFA World Cup. A venomous snake was spotted at their base camp in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, leaving the players worried.
Germany captain Joshua Kimmich spoke about the issue, saying, 'In Germany, you worry about tactics, injuries, and your next opponent. Here, you also have to think about what might be hiding in the grass.'
The snake encountered by the German team was a copperhead, a venomous species commonly found in North Carolina.
The Swiss and Norwegian teams have also reported similar concerns, with the Swiss marking a 'snake area' at their San Diego camp.
Kimmich expressed concerns about the potential danger, saying, 'If you get bitten, you have to go to the hospital. I don't think you'll die, but it's certainly dangerous.'
The German team has been trying to keep their distance from animals and respect the local environment.
The four-time champions opened their tournament campaign with a 7-1 win over Curacao and will face Ivory Coast on June 21.
