World number 4 Iga Swiatek has appointed former Rafael Nadal coach Francisco Roig to her team, replacing Wim Fissette ahead of the 2026 clay court swing.

Roig, who worked with Nadal for 17 years, joins Swiatek's team after a stint with Emma Raducanu, with whom he parted ways due to disagreements over her playing style.

Swiatek, a six-time grand slam champion, holds Nadal as her tennis hero and has spent time at the Rafael Nadal Academy in Mallorca.

The Polish player is looking to regain her balance in her game, which has been inconsistent since her split with Fissette, and sees Roig as a better fit for her heavy top-spin game and elite movement.

Swiatek currently sits at number four in the world and is trying to iron out her game to make a tilt at the number one position held by Aryna Sabalenka.
