Raipur/Mumbai: Indian archer Payal Nag has made history by becoming the world's first quadruple amputee archery champion at the inaugural World Archery Para Series event in Bangkok. In a remarkable achievement, Payal beat her idol, Sheetal Devi, who is also an armless woman archer and a World Championship medalist.

Payal's journey to the top has been nothing short of remarkable. Born in Raipur, she was involved in a tragic accident in 2015, which led to the amputation of her arms and legs. Despite the odds against her, Payal remained determined to pursue her passion for archery. With the help of her coach, Kuldeep Vedwan, she created a special device to enable her to shoot arrows.

Payal's victory is a testament to her hard work and dedication. She has set her sights on bigger targets, including the 2026 Asian Games and 2028 Paralympics. Her achievement has inspired many, and she has become a role model for people with disabilities.
