Javelin throw final Highlights, Asian Games 2026: Yash Vir Singh and Rohit Yadav clinched silver and bronze medals in the men's javelin throw event at the Asian Games. Rumesh Pathirage, who was the favourite for gold, clinched the top prize with his best throw of 88.55m. Yash Vir and Rohit registered their best throws at 85.72 and 84.35m, respectively. In the first few throws, the two Indians were dominating the contest, but Pathirage increased the intensity by throwing 88 m+ on two occasions, and in the end, there was no match for him. Defending champion Neeraj Chopra did not participate in the event after he was ruled out of the Asian Games after suffering an ankle ligament injury, bringing his 2026 season to an early end.
