DENVER, COLORADO - Denver Broncos edge rusher Jonathon Cooper was arrested for the second time in a week, facing four new charges linked to a June 4 incident. The new charges include two domestic violence charges, one harassment charge, and one for violating a protection order.

The harassment charge stems from repeated phone calls, according to court reports via NFL Media. Cooper is also accused of breaking a protection order put in place after his first arrest.

Cooper's first arrest occurred on June 4 in Parker, Colorado, where he was booked on suspicion of domestic violence and criminal mischief. He was released on June 5 on a personal recognizance bond and pleaded not guilty to domestic violence charges on June 8.

However, two days later, more charges were slapped against him, including second-degree assault by strangulation and third-degree assault. The incident reportedly started after a verbal argument over cheating allegations, which turned physical.

The Denver Broncos team released a statement expressing disappointment and are reviewing the situation. Head coach Sean Payton stated that the NFL will handle discipline, and the team is waiting for the legal process to continue.

Cooper is expected to appear in court on June 12, with a motions hearing set for July 6 and a possible jury trial on July 22. If found guilty, the NFL could suspend him, potentially affecting his career and the team's defense.
