Gianluca Prestianni's Benfica career 'over' if found guilty in Vinicius Junior racism probe, says Jose Mourinho.
The Benfica manager has publicly stated his opposition to any kind of discrimination or prejudice, following initial criticism for his comments after the first leg of the Champions League knockout play-off.
Prestianni was suspended for last week's return leg in Madrid, after Benfica lost their appeal against the ban. However, the Argentine attacker has denied the allegations.
Jose Mourinho told reporters, 'If my player did not respect these principles, which are mine and Benfica's as well, then that player's career with a coach named Jose Mourinho and at a club named Benfica will come to an end.'
The incident occurred after Vinicius Junior gave Real Madrid the lead in the first leg, and he was booked for celebrating in front of the Benfica fans.
A UEFA ethics investigator has already spoken to the relevant parties and produced an interim report, recommending the suspension of Prestianni for one game, while the investigation continues.
