The Dallas Cowboys may have missed out on Maxx Crosby, but a new and potentially bigger opportunity could be on the horizon. After a strong effort to sign the five-time Pro Bowler from the Las Vegas Raiders, the team has shifted its focus to Cleveland Browns star edge-rusher Myles Garrett.

Garrett's contract was quietly modified by the Browns, pushing back the option dates from late March to early September. Salary cap analyst Jack Duffin believes this move suggests Garrett wants out of Cleveland, and the Cowboys could be in a strong position to make a deal happen.

With Garrett coming off an incredible season, including a record 23 sacks in 2025 and NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors, the Cowboys know they have a rare opportunity to acquire a player of his level. However, the cost could be steep, with the Browns likely to ask for a big return in draft picks.

The Cowboys currently have two first-round picks this year, which could be enough to make a deal happen. Alternatively, they could offer a combination of picks, including a first-round pick in 2027, and possibly another asset to complete the deal.

While nothing can happen without Garrett's approval, the situation is becoming increasingly interesting, especially with the Cowboys already looking for a pass-rusher this offseason.
