Kansas City Chiefs defensive backs coach Dave Merritt, 54, has been charged with domestic battery after allegedly causing bodily harm to his daughter, Drayah Merritt.

The arrest occurred on Wednesday evening, just a day before the 2026 NFL Draft, and Merritt was taken to the Johnson County jail.

Court documents reveal that Merritt is accused of 'unlawfully, knowingly, or recklessly causing bodily harm to a person,' which is considered a domestic violence offense under Kansas law.
