Portugal were held to a 1-1 draw in their FIFA World Cup opener as Group K opponents DR Congo scored their first-ever WC goal in Houston.
Joao Neves scored for Portugal in the sixth minute, handing them an early lead after Pedro Neto found him with a cross, and he converted the header with ease.
Portugal were dominant in possession, but DR Congo maintained a high line, searching for the equaliser.
Then they applied pressure on Portugal in added time, and after some corners, a cross found Yoane Wissa, who headed it past Diogo Costa.
Both teams tried to get the winner in the second half but failed to find the back of the net.
